Full 12 day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to your hotel
On your arrival at Entebbe international airport, you will be picked by our company representative and be transferred to your hotel for relaxation and an overnight at Kampala Serena hotel or Arcadia suites Kampala.
Day 2: Buganda trail cultural tour
After breakfast, start your day by visiting Bulange and Mengo Twekobe royal administration for Buganda Traditional Kings (Kabaka a title given to the traditional kings of Buganda Kingdom), there after Kabaka’s Lake, Rubaga and Namirembe old missionary churches. Lunch break at café javas Namirembe road. After lunch proceed to Naggalabi coronation site, where Buganda kings have been crowned for the past 700 years. Visit Katereke Prison ditch (the ditch that was dug by Kabaka Kalema in the late 19th century for punishing his disobedient subjects. It is an attractive site comprising of a circular ditch enclosing an area of about 70 meters in diameter). Overnight at Kampala Serena Hotel or Arcadia suites
Day 3: Kampala city cultural tour
After breakfast, drive to Uganda Museum which gives you a display of Uganda’s cultural heritage where one can see ethnological and natural historical exhibitions. It’s also a vivid reminder of the country’s colorful past experience. Proceed to the unique beautiful Baha’i temple the only one in Africa have lunch at Satellite hotel Kisaasi. In the afternoon, visit Namugongo Uganda Marty’s shrine a place where very many Christian converts were burnt to death on 3rd June 1886 by Kabaka Mwanga due their faith in Jesus Christ. Proceed to ndere cultural centre for cultural performance. Overnight at Ndere cultural centre.
Day 4: Kampala to Jinja for a cultural tour
After breakfast, depart Kampala for Jinja with a stopover at Sezibwa cultural site; view the river with its falls that is believed to have been born by a human being! Then proceed to source of the Nile, have a boat ride on river Nile, have your lunch at the source of the Nile. In the afternoon continue with the trip to Bugembe the royal palace of Busoga Kingdom. Return to Kampala for dinner and overnight at Kampala Serena Hotel or Arcadia suites
Day 5: Kampala to Hoima and visit the cultural sites
After breakfast, start the journey to Hoima via Kiboga district have a brief stop at Mparu tombs before reaching Hoima town. Mparu tombs are royal burial grounds for Bunyoro traditional kings; this place is famous known in Bunyoro kingdom because it was chosen by Omukama (King) Kabalega to be his capital in 1872. Check in at Dream holiday hotel or Hoima cultural lodge for lunch and overnight stay.
Day 6: Experience Bunyoro Kingdom ancient cultures
After breakfast, Visit Katasiha Fort and caves where King Kabalega and his army were attacked at Mparo in December 1893, they withdrew to Katasiha and set up a battled front. See the caves where king kabalega and his army dug in a month to dodge bullets. Then proceed to Karuzika palace (Bunyoro Kingdom palace) for historical narrations. Lunch break at your hotel, after lunch break you will be entertained by Entogoro cultural dancing group. Dream holiday hotel or Hoima cultural lodge for overnight.
Day 7: Transfer from Hoima to Mubende and then Fort portal town
After breakfast, transfer to mubende where you will find Nakayima tree, which gets its name, from the princesses who resided there, it’s believed to be sacred and has 18 room like structure where people sit and pray for blessings and also “ebigali,” the baskets where people make their offerings. Check In at the hotel and have lunch. In the afternoon, visit the Tooro kingdom palace for historical and cultural narrations. The palace is built on famous Kabarole hill overlooking the beautiful historical Fort portal town. Dinner and overnight at Kyaninga lodge or Mountains of the moon Hotel
Day 8: Fort portal and Tooro Kingdom Cultural adventure
Early in the morning, visit the Karambi royal tombs where Tooro kings are buried. Drive to the historical sites of “Amabere ganyinamwiru” caves and have a magnificent view of Saaka crater lakes. Relax for lunch break at your lodge. In the afternoon, proceed to Rwenzori art centre for crafts and souvenir experience. Dinner and overnight at Kyaninga lodge or Mountains of the moon Hotel
Day 9: Queen Elizabeth National Park wildlife and cultural encounters
After breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park for game drives and expect to see species of wildlife such as, lions, leopards, buffalos, elephants, and antelopes. After lunch at your lodge, connect to Bunyaruguru area where you may participate in different cultural activities that are performed by the different women cultural groups, such as dancing, peeling of bananas. Dinner and overnight at the Mweya safari lodge or Parkview lodge
Day 10: Queen Elizabeth – kitagata hot springs – Kabale
Start on the journey from Queen Elizabeth national park to kitagata hot springs in Sheema district which are believed to provide magical healing power. Proceed to Kabale district via Kanungu district. Have lunch in Kabale town and thereafter, visit Kabale Museum, to get exposed to Bakiga culture. Overnight at Kabale White Horse Inn or Cephas hotel kabale
Day 11: Transfer from Kabale to Kampala via Mbarara
After breakfast, leave for Mbarara driving through the terraced hills of Kabale, district visit the Omugabe palace, proceed to Igongo cultural centre for lunch and also learn more about the Ankole culture. Afternoon you connect to Kampala with a stopover at the equator. Dinner and overnight at Kampala Serena Hotel or Arcadia suites
Day 12: Departure
